Horizontal wood splitter/log splitter  is a machine or device used to separate firewood from softwood or hardwood logs that have been cut into parts. Many log splitters consist of knife and hydraulic pump components which are usually rated according to the tonnage they can produce. The higher the rated force, the larger the diameter or length of the log that can be split.
